SUMMARY:Fall COPE Day Programs 2025 Session 3
DESCRIPTION:The Heart of New England Council’s C.O.P.E. volunteers are offering weekend programs to individual scouting units!\nWhen: November 1st\, 2025 -9am to 5pm\nWhere: Treasure Valley – Rutland\, MA\nWho: Scouts\, SA youth\nCost: $250 per unit (covers the first 6 scouts) and $30 per additional scouts \nC.O.P.E. is an experiential learning program that utilizes problem solving activities\, games\, and low and high ropes course elements to develop a group in eight primary areas of focus: communication\, planning\, teamwork\, trust\, leadership development\, decision making\, problem solving and self-esteem. \nWhile your Project C.O.P.E. experience will incorporate all eight of these goals to a greater or lesser degree\, we will tailor the program to emphasize those areas that you would like us to focus on\, specific to your group. Please note\, this is a team-based activity a minimum of 6 participants are required for this program. \nHeart of New England’s C.O.P.E. programs are operated at our challenge course facility at Treasure Valley. The safety of our participants is our first and most important priority. Our challenge course facility at Treasure Valley complies with the construction and maintenance standards of the Association for Challenge Course Technology. Our program staff is trained in program facilitation and course operation by the Scouting America’s National Camping School. \nThis is a day that will challenge each scout individually and as a group. Work together to develop trust as a unit and learn some skills for creative problem solving\, decision making and teamwork. Your unit will leave as a higher functioning\, more confident version of those who came in. \nThe minimum age for participation in high course activities is 13 years of age at the time of participation. Younger Scouts may be permitted to participate at the discretion of the COPE director\, if they demonstrate a sufficient level of maturity during the initiatives and low course activities. \nFor more information\, please contact Anne Souza at the email below. \nUpdated 9/18/25
