Quinapoxet District Spring Camporee

Important Range Safety Training for all adult leaders is now required for all Scouts BSA, Venturing and Sea Scouts
Effective 9/27/24, “Range Activities Safety” training is required for a minimum of one leader per unit at any event with Range and Target activities. Please make sure you take it before your next RATA event. At a minimum one leader must have completed this training and show proof of certificate at check in. The unit will not be able to participate without this person on site.

*This event is for Scouts, BSA youth only! Cub Scouts, Webelos and Arrow of Lights WILL NOT be able to participate.

Come take on the challenges and test your skills that the Rangers throughout history have learned and honed over the years. Do you have what it takes to complete the “The Rangers Way”?

In honor of the history, contribution, and sacrifices of Rangers past and present we look to honor them through our camporee by competing in competitions that honor the spirit of the skills that Rangers past and present had to learn and be proficient at to be the elite group that they have been throughout history. Activities include: Archery, Semaphore, Canoe Race, First-Aid, Crosscut Race, Pioneering, Fire Building Race, Shotgun, Rifle, Tomahawks, Ranger Challenge, Orienteering/Land Navigation, Fly Fishing Demonstration, MA National Guard Climbing Tower, Black powder/Trapper Demonstration, HAM Radio Demonstration. 

Scout Community Dinner – Family Style Turkey Dinner – During this years camporee instead of units cooking dinner by themselves and eating in their campsites we are going to be holding a family style turkey dinner for the entire camporee. Troop 10 is preparing the turkeys for the event cooking them using scout methods. Each unit is being asked to prepare a side to share with the camporee (mashed potatoes, vegetables(non-starch), stuffing, rolls, dessert. The size of the side that the unit prepares should be geared toward being able to feed 50 people. Please sign up for the side your unit will be preparing for our dinner (Appendix 3)

How to register:

Please register your unit by purchasing a one time, non refundable event fee ticket of $25 and then purchasing the number of adults and youth tickets you will need.   

**Camporee patches will be ordered after the event for those who participate. If extra patches would like to be purchased, the cost will be $3 per patch. Contact Brian P. Donelan or order at check in. Patches will be mailed to the Unit Lead.
