Earn your Horsemanship Merit Badge while attending Treasure Valley Scout Reservation Summer Camp!
We have partnered with Camp Marshall to offer this exciting experience.
Horsemanship schedule: Monday-Thursday, depart from dining tent immediately following lunch. Scouts will return to camp at approx. 2:30pm except for Thursday where we won’t return until after 3:30. Thursdays are the days the scouts will be on the horses and the class runs longer. Scouts may choose to attend a block 5 merit badge class but know they may miss the Thursday class. Class size: 10 scouts.
Please read the bulleted list below before completing registration:
- You must be registered to attend a week at TVSR with your Troop or you must registered to attend TVSR for a provisional week – TVSR Provo Registration.
- Cost to participate $140.
- An instructional agreement and liability release will be required to participate (See document below)
- This will be a double session in the afternoon, off site merit badge offered Monday – Thursday.
- Class size is limited to 10 scouts per week and is on a first come first serve basis.
- Transportation will be provided to and from Camp Marshall.
- Proper footwear is required – sturdy boots with one inch heels.
- Long pants must be worn. Jeans are preferred. No sweatpants or track pants or shorts.
- Gloves are also recommended.
- Participants must not exceed 200 lbs. to participate in the program.
- Helmets will be provided.
