COPE/Climbing Instructor Training

This training is intended for summer camp staff and anyone interested in getting involved with year-round COPE/Climbing programs at Camp Wanocksett and Treasure Valley Scout Reservation. Participants completing this training will be designated as a BSA Level I COPE/Climbing Instructor under the BSA’s COPE/Climbing instructor training program qualified to assist with programs under the supervision of a BSA Level II COPE/Climbing instructor or COPE/Climbing Director at Heart of New England Council facilities.

Experience is not necessary. All safety equipment is provided. Minimum age 16.

• Set up and use of safety equipment
• Knots
• Belay techniques
• Rappelling
• Initiative games
• Low and High Course elements facilitation
