🌱 Explore Your Future in Clean Energy!
In conjunction with the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center (MassCEC), Heart of New England Council is pleased to announce our pilot Career Pathway merit badge program in Clean Energy, designed to inspire and prepare the next generation of clean energy professionals.
All Scout BSA participants are welcome.Â
The Clean Energy Career Pathways initiative connects you to exciting opportunities in one of the fastest-growing industries in the state and aligns with Scouting’s merit badge program, offering a unique opportunity to explore clean energy careers while building valuable skills.
Merit badges in:
Environmental Science—such as Energy, Sustainability, and Environmental Science—introduce Scouts to climate-focused topics and conservation.
Technical Skills badges like Engineering, Electricity, Robotics, and Welding provide hands-on experience with tools and technologies used in clean energy industries.
Soft Skills badges such as Communication, Public Speaking, and Citizenship in Society help Scouts develop leadership, civic awareness, and teamwork—essential for success in any career.
Together, these badges support MassCEC’s mission to prepare youth for meaningful roles in the clean energy workforce.
This program will allow Scouts to explore careers in areas like Electricity, Engineering, Automotive Maintenance, Communication, and Entrepreneurship to help prepare them for clean energy careers—all of which are in high demand across clean energy sectors like High-Performance Building, Net Zero Grid, Offshore Wind, and Clean Transportation.
