NRA Rifle Basic & NRA Shotgun Basic for National Camp School

Sending someone to National Camping School for Shooting Sports Director?  Having NRA Instructor Certifications for Rifle and Shotgun are a prerequisite?  The Heart of New England Council is hosting a NCS Shooting Sports Director Pre-requisite Weekend March 21-23, 2025 in Rutland, MA.

All candidates MUST take the NRA BASIC student classes for both rifle and shotgun before attending the instructor class.   Once completed you will need to bring proof of completion with you to the instructor course.

NRA Basic Course Participant minimum: 4
NRA Basic Course Participant maximum: 12

Online registration, online payment only through National’s registration portal.  Link to that portal can be found below. Those participants who wish to arrive at camp early (April 10th) will be required to pay a $55 fee to the National BSA office.

Who may attend:
Registered BSA members who have NRA Rifle & Shotgun Basic completed.  Must be at least 21 years old.

Cost:
$175 per person
Fee includes Instructor certification fees (rifle & shotgun), meals, on-site camping and program supplies. Registrations completed fewer than 14 days prior to the start of the school will incur a $50 late charge.  This fee will be charged by the National BSA office, not the Heart of New England Council.

Class items needed: The instructor course will ask participants to be able to follow a syllabus and instruct materials during the class. Some materials may be sent by the NRA Training Counselor prior to the course. Participants will need to have access digital files during the training weekend, so it is recommended that you bring a laptop computer or tablet.
